The Namakagon Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) was established in 1971.

The NVFD’s purpose and mission is to preserve and protect life and property in the Township of Namakagon; provide assistance to all other cities, villages and townships thru mutual aid agreements; provide for the Protection of life and property through inspections and enforcement of all fires; provide, within reason, search, rescue, and/or assistance to all other emergencies; and when available, respond to requests from other Fire Departments, EMS, Law Enforcement, State or Federal agencies.

The regular monthly meetings may be held a minimum of two (2) Thursdays a month.  Regular meetings may begin at 7:00 P.M. unless otherwise changed by the Fire Chief.

The annual meeting of the NVFD should be held on the 2nd Thursday of September of each year.  If a conflict with this date arises, then the Fire Chief may choose another appropriate date within the same month.
