Namakagon Community Club will meet Thursday, May 3rd, 2018.
Social time 6:00pm-6:30pm, Potluck dinner @ 6:30.
Here is a note from our hostesses and host for this Thursday:
Hello fellow Namakagon Community Clubers,
For the May meeting, We’re hoping to have a fiesta celebrating local foods. If you’d like to participate, feature any kind of local ingredient in your pot luck item.
How about we say local is within 100 miles. I’ll bring index cards so you can ID your ingredient(s). Examples are wide and varied.
Many of us eat local meat, whether it was hunted, fished or just raised nearby.
And don’t forget local brats and sausages of all kinds! Lots of us have produce we grow or has been grown locally that may be in our freezer or in jars.
Maybe you like to cook with local wine or beer. Perhaps you use sweetener like maple syrup or honey that came right from our area.
And don’t forget dairy, local milk and cheese is certainly abundant around here.
I’m sure I’m forgetting things, get creative! And, yes, I will be making margarita mix again!
